Maximin Grünhaus

The Maximin Grünhaus estate has been active since Roman times. The first document that mentions the estate dates from the 6th of February 966. Until the 18th century the estate and its vineyards had been managed by the abbey of Saint Maximin. In the process of the secularization under Napoleon the estate was sold to its first private owner. In 1882, Carl Ferdinand Freiherr von Stumm-Halberg bought it with all its land, buildings and vineyards. Since then, the estate has been owned by the von Schubert family - his descendants. Today, it is managed by the 6th generation, Maximin von Schubert.
